CamRelay 1.0.4: ブラウザでカメラの音声を聞き、どんな状況にも耐える録画

CamRelay 1.0.4はGoogle Playで提供開始となりました。このアップデートは信頼に関するものです：今ではブラウザ内でカメラが捉える音を聞くことができ、電話がクラッシュしたり電源が切れても録画は安全に保たれ、アプリは録画中かどうかを正直に伝えます。さらに、アプリを再インストールした後に残る録画の問題を修正する長らく待たれていた修正、バッテリーに優しいダークなメイン画面、そして最初の秒からスムーズで安定したストリームも追加されました。

ブラウザでカメラの音声を聞く

1.0.3では、プレイヤーをインストールせずにどのブラウザからでもカメラを閲覧できるよう、ウェブインターフェースにライブビューを追加しました。その中で欠けていたのは音声でした。それからずっと、この機能が最も多く要望されてきました。なぜかというと、育児室の写真は安心感を与えますが、赤ちゃんが寝ているか泣いているかを聞くことこそが本当に知りたい情報だからです。

1.0.4では、ブラウザ内のライブビューがビデオとともに音声を再生します。

仕組み

1. CamRelayでストリーミングを開始します。
2. 同じWi-Fiネットワークの別のデバイスで、アプリに表示されているウェブインターフェースのアドレスを開きます。
3. ページの上部にライブビデオが表示され、その下に**🔊 音声オンボタンがあります。タップすると音声を聞くことができます。タップすると🔇 音声オフ**ボタンで音声をオフにできます。

ビデオは意図的に最初は無音で開始されます。ブラウザはウェブページが音声を再生する前にタップを必要とするため、最初は必ず音声オンにする必要があります。その後、あなたの選択は記憶されます：接続が切れて復帰したり、ページを離れて戻ってきても、音声はオンの状態のままです。

使い道

• ベビーモニター: リビングのタブレットでページを開いたままにしておけば、赤ちゃんの様子を見ながら育児室の音声を聞くことができます。
• ペットカメラ: 外出して様子を見る前に、犬が何を吠えているかを確認できます。
• 玄関または店舗: ドアベル、配達、または来店するお客様の足音を聞き取れます。

音声は画像と同じブラウザおよびデバイスで動作します：Windows PC、Mac、Chromebook、iPhone、iPad、AndroidスマートフォンまたはタブレットでのChrome、Edge、Firefox、Safari。インストール不要、アカウント不要、クラウド不要。すべては自分のWi-Fi環境内に留まります。

注: 音声は通常のライブビューで再生されます。たとえば高速接続をブロックするネットワークのためにページがシンプルな画像モードにフォールバックする必要がある場合、音声なしの画像が表示されます。RTSP URLをコピーボタンは依然としてVLCやNVR用の音声付きフルストリームを提供します。

ブラウザタブを眺めていないときでもバッテリーを節約

多くのユーザーは、メールや作業画面の横にあるブラウザタブにCamRelayのページを一日中開いたままにしています。今まで、そのタブが他のタブに埋もれて何時間も経っていても、端末はそのタブにフルライブストリームを送り続けており、バッテリーを消耗し、見られていない画像のためにWi-Fiを使用していました。また、ライブビューアのスロットを一つ占有していたため、家族が後からページを開いたときに「カメラは使用中です」と表示されることがありました。

今では、別のタブまたは別のアプリに切り替えてから数秒後にライブビューが自動的に一時停止し、再びタブに戻った瞬間に自動的に再開されます。何もしなくてよく、タブを素早く行き来しても画像は中断されません。ページを見て「このタブがバックグラウンドにある間、ライブプレビューは一時停止されています」と表示されたら、それは単にカメラは正常であり、タブが foreground に戻ったら画像がすぐに復帰するということを意味します。

録画およびNVRやVLCへの通常のストリームには影響ありません。影響を受けるのは、特定のブラウザタブ内の画像のみです。

クラッシュや電源断にも耐える録画

CamRelayが端末のストレージに録画を行う際、カメラが稼働している間ファイルは連続して書き込まれます。端末が突然シャットダウンし、バッテリーが切れ、Androidがアプリを終了させるか、アプリがクラッシュすると、進行中の録画は以前は壊れた状態になっていました：最後に数分が欠けた状態で再生されることもあれば、全く表示されないこともあり、さらに一週間後に端末によって静かに削除されることもありました。セキュリティカメラにとって、予期しないシャットダウン直前の瞬間はまさに保存しておきたいものです。

中断された録画は自動的に復旧

予期せぬ停止後にCamRelayを次回起動すると、切断された録画を探し出し、ユーザーに代わって処理を完了します。MKV形式の録画は、中断の約1秒前までのデータを保持し、他の録画と同様にファイルマネージャやギャラリーに表示されます。残念ながらMP4形式の録画は突然の停止後に修復できません；壊れたファイルを残す代わりに、CamRelayはそれを削除し、リストを乱雑にしないようにします。

MKV録画に音声が含まれるようになりました

MKV録画は以前は音声がありませんでした。これが修正されました：MKVファイルは今ではMP4ファイルと同様に音声トラックを含むようになりました。

どの形式を使うべきですか？

• MKV は、監視カメラが留守中に家を撮影するような無人での長時間録画に適した安全な選択肢です。問題が発生しても、最大で約1秒分のデータしか失いません。
• MP4 は、変換せずに幅広いデバイスで再生できるようにしたい場合、そして録画を通常通り停止する場合の選択肢です。

形式は 設定 > 録画設定 > コンテナ形式 から変更できます。両方の形式はVLCおよびほとんどのメディアプレイヤーでサポートされています。

A REC indicator you can trust

The red REC badge on the main screen used to light up as soon as recording was switched on in the settings, even when the recording had actually failed to start, for example because the storage was full. You could be looking at a reassuring red badge for hours while nothing was being saved.

The badge now shows only while a recording is really being written. If you have recording enabled and the badge does not appear, you know immediately that something needs your attention, usually free space on the phone or the storage permission. The web interface shows the same, honest status.

Clean up recordings from a previous install

Have you ever uninstalled and reinstalled CamRelay, or moved to a new build, and found old recordings that the app simply refuses to delete? On recent Android versions, files created by a previous installation no longer belong to the app, so CamRelay could not remove them automatically, the web interface failed to delete them with a confusing error, and they still counted against your storage limit.

1.0.4 handles this properly:

• In Settings > Recording Settings, a new Recordings from a previous install card shows how many of these files there are and how much space they take. Tap Delete old recordings, confirm Android's dialog, and they are gone.
• Old recordings no longer count towards Max Storage, and automatic cleanup leaves them alone, so your new recordings get the space they are supposed to get.
• In the web interface's File Manager, these files carry a Previous install label. You can still play and download them, and a short note explains where to delete them on the phone.

Android requires that you confirm this deletion on the phone itself. That is a privacy protection built into the system, not something CamRelay can skip, which is why the button lives in the app rather than in the browser.

A dark main screen that saves battery

The main screen, the one you leave on while the camera runs, is now always dark. On phones with an OLED display, dark pixels use almost no power, so a phone that sits on a shelf as a camera for hours lasts noticeably longer on a charge and runs cooler. Dialogs and menus on that screen are dark too, so nothing bright pops up in a dark room at night.

The other screens, Welcome, Permissions and Settings, follow your phone's light or dark mode as before. And if your phone switches between light and dark mode on a schedule, for example at sunset, the stream now continues without a hiccup; previously the switch could briefly restart the camera.

Smoother, steadier streaming

• No more pause when you press Start. On phones with many recordings, the app could freeze for a moment while it tidied up storage at the start of a stream. That work now happens in the background, so the stream starts right away.
• More stable over long sessions. We fixed a problem that could make the app close by itself after many hours of streaming, if the stream had been stopped and started again in the meantime. Restarting the stream, changing the audio format, or switching cameras now leaves the microphone in a clean state every time.
• Storage cleanup is smarter. When the storage limit is reached, CamRelay only deletes old recordings if that actually makes room for the new one. It no longer wipes a whole set of recordings in situations where that would not have helped.

Also in this update

• Settings fields that behave. Number fields in Settings, such as the port numbers, the segment length or the storage limit, can now be cleared and retyped from scratch. Previously the last digit could not be deleted and some values snapped back while you were still typing.
• Updated user guide in all supported languages, including the new recording features and the live view with sound: guide.xnano.net/camrelay.
• Smaller fixes and polish throughout.
